Wouter: "I manage to do things now."
Before I started cognitive training, I mainly ran into the fact that I experienced high mental barriers to starting something in daily life. I simply didn’t always manage to keep my focus. I noticed this in all kinds of areas, even when picking up my own hobbies. Things that used to be self-evident now took me a lot of effort to start up at all.
From the UWV I was referred to Dynamisch Bureau. Because the cognitive training can help with challenges related to autism, ADD and acquired brain injury, I thought that this could also be a very good step for my situation.
In the beginning, training certainly didn’t come naturally to me. Especially during the first half of the process, I had a lot of trouble with the regularity of doing the training sessions.
Fortunately, Dynamisch Bureau thought along well and sent a tablet to me to help me. That worked pretty well. Thanks to this support, I managed to finish the second half of the process decently with a nice rhythm of two to three training sessions a week.
Although my progress is due to a combination of several factors, the cognitive training has definitely contributed to this. I notice that I can now focus a lot better and it is much easier for me to start doing things. It feels like capacity has really been released in my brain again.
My daily life has received a positive impulse as a result: I am successfully losing weight, walk a lot
more and I am active again with my hobbies. I am simply looking forward to the future again!
To others who are in a similar situation and are still in doubt, I would like to say: if you have trouble doing things regularly, such as cognitive training three times a week, try to do it right. The training is exactly what can help you break through and build that structure and routine.
