"Being good at who you are"

Dick Zirkzee

Coach / Second track programme counselor / TMA talent professional

“Before I became a professional coach, I gained a wealth of work and life experience. This helps me daily in my work as a coach. I have worked as a technician, project manager, executive and manager. From these positions I have learned to empathize with the development of people, both professionally and personally.
I enjoyed guiding and coaching employees so much that I decided to start working as a coach around 2004. I quickly saw what coachees were struggling with, but lacked a number of tools in my backpack to tackle all the issues.

I followed a number of great coaching courses, a college education to become a Psycho Social Therapist, Voice Dialogue (method to guide people in getting to know their inner drives and motives better), systemic work and Transactional Analysis (theory about personality, communication and change).

My approach is not only based on knowledge, but above all practical and focused on results. But with warmth and understanding. I recognize a lot of what everyone is going through. I feel a strong connection to what moves people: ‘Why do you do what you do?’ With many personal issues, it is important to do research into this. We also look at your biography. What things have you taught yourself that were once very important, but now get in your way?

“Being good at who you are” is a statement that is close to my heart. This statement is not mine, but Karin Brugman’s. I’m happy to borrow this quote. It says in a few words what it’s all about: staying true to yourself, being who you are. It doesn’t happen all at once, it happens bit by bit. It is important to work on this, for example if you are looking for another job or if you feel stuck.

Dynamisch Bureau came my way and immediately appealed to me: the personal approach, the versatility of the work, but also being able to work with colleagues. Coaching can be a lonely profession. At Dynamisch Bureau it is nice to be able to consult with colleagues and learn from each other. “Live your talent” is what we stand for. The above statement fits in perfectly with this. As a coach, I like to walk with you for a while and I help you to be good at who you are.”
