In my life, I strive to use difficult circumstances as a means to grow and come out stronger. In Buddhism, this is called turning poison into medicine. One particularly inspiring example for me is Jaap Bressers, whose talk I once attended. He inspired me not to give up. <\/p>\n

At the age of 21, while still a promising student, Jaap dove into the sea during a vacation and hit the bottom. He broke his neck, ended up in a wheelchair, and now experiences involuntary movements of his arms and head due to the spasms caused by the accident. <\/p>\n

After a very challenging rehabilitation process, he managed to rebuild his life. Today, he fills venues as an inspiring speaker and has written his own book. He encourages others to follow their hearts and make full use of their talents. He also wants people to recognize and embrace their own added value \u2014 something he practices himself every day. <\/p>\n

Dare to change<\/h2>\n

One of my coachees had been teaching for years, though in recent years with growing reluctance. Through coaching, she began to see that there were other possibilities for her beyond being a teacher. She bravely took the step to leave. Now, she wants to support organizations in an administrative role. Follow her example if you\u2019re feeling unhappy in your job! <\/p>\n

Never give up<\/h2>\n

A few years ago, I ran into financial difficulties when our largest client suddenly dropped out. Every month, I wondered whether I\u2019d be able to pay the mortgage. But by refusing to give up and pushing through, I slowly managed to lift my business out of that low point. Today, it\u2019s successful once again, and I\u2019m incredibly grateful for all the coaches who are now part of Dynamisch Bureau. <\/p>\n

Help others<\/h2>\n

Jaap Bressers uses his experience to help others. In the same way, my own experience allows me to better understand and support people facing financial difficulties. It enables me to use what I\u2019ve been through to benefit others. <\/p>\n
