More and more organizations recognize the importance of talent management and use employees’ talents as the foundation within the HR cycle. Whether it’s about development, performance evaluation, or recruitment, employees’ talents are the starting point. In talent management, the focus is also increasingly shifting to all employees, not just the so-called “high potentials”.
What is driving the growing recognition of talent management for the entire workforce? Below are three reasons to embrace talent management. <\/p>\n

Retaining employees within the organization<\/strong><\/p>\n

A large-scale global study revealed that salary level is not the decisive factor for many employees. At the top of the list of workplace happiness factors is \u201cfeeling appreciated for your work,\u201d followed by \u201chaving good relationships with colleagues,\u201d and third, \u201ca healthy work-life balance.\u201d An \u201cattractive fixed salary\u201d only comes in at number eight.
By expressing appreciation for your employees and placing their talents at the center, they are less likely to look for opportunities elsewhere. Especially in today\u2019s tight labor market, this is of vital importance. <\/p>\n

Increasing motivation and job satisfaction leads to better results<\/strong><\/p>\n

Talent management makes a positive contribution to employee motivation and job satisfaction. Organizations achieve better results when employees are doing what they\u2019re good at. Less energy is wasted on tasks that don\u2019t suit the individual. <\/p>\n

Choosing the right education and training<\/strong><\/p>\n

By identifying an employee\u2019s natural aptitude for certain competencies (as part of talent management), you can determine where to invest together. This allows the employee to further develop their competencies. For example, someone who lacks talent for \u201cplanning and organizing\u201d is probably not the best candidate for a time management course \u2014 that would likely be money wasted. Instead, choose an education or training program that fits within a jointly developed development plan, one that aligns with the employee\u2019s potential. In this case, a course focused on the \u201cleadership\u201d competency, such as a management training program, might be a much better fit. <\/p>\n
